Hair Challenged!

I am definitely a little hair challenged when it comes to styling my own hair, let alone the hair of two wiggly 14 month olds. Tiff and the girls were over today, so she gave me some hair styling tips and gave the girls a set of stylish pig tails! Unlike their barrettes, which they take out constantly, these pig tails weren't going anywhere!

Happy Easter

Since we didn't pull into town until about 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny's visit to the Ridenour household was rather late on Sunday afternoon. After church and a much needed nap for the girls, they took their Easter baskets outside to gather eggs filled with delicious animal crackers. They definitely remembered their egg gathering experience at the Canal Basin Park, because they wasted no time and needed no instructions on what to do with the eggs scattered throughout the front yard. It was interesting to see the different egg gathering styles of the girls. Abby picked up her basket and it never left her hands the entire time, which made it quite difficult for her little hands to hold the basket, pick up the eggs, and place them into the basket, but somehow she managed to gather a majority of the eggs. On the other hand, Leah would spot an egg half-way across the yard, drop her basket, run for the egg, and return to her basket with egg in hand. They were both excited to find the yummy treats inside!

Vermont

This past week, we took a family vacation to Killington, Vermont. Along with Grandpap & Grandma Ridenour and Uncle Todd, we packed up our skis and headed for the snowy mountains. Although the girls are still too young to try out their skiing skills, they sure did have fun sledding down the fast terrain of the slippery Vermont slopes. The freshly groomed snow helped them to reach all-time high sledding speeds!

The weather in Vermont this past week was so drastically different from one day to the next. We started and ended the week with blue skies and sunshine, but in the middle we had slush, rain, ice and almost a foot of snow. Here you can see the world encased in ice (there was actually almost an inch total).

Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail

Today we took the girls to their first Easter Egg Hunt at the Canal Basin Park. There were about 600 hidden eggs, and with the help of several other kiddos at the egg hunt, they collected about 6 eggs apiece. They did a pretty good job, considering the fact that their Easter baskets are almost as big as them!

Happy Birthday Cousin Luke!

This past weekend, we took a trip to Pittsburgh to join in the fun of celebrating our nephew's birthday. It is so hard for me to believe that he is four years old already!

The wintery weather may have kept him from testing out his new 4-wheeler outdoors, but that didn't stop him from sitting on it non-stop all weekend in the family room. Leah and Abby enjoyed testing it out too!

Cousin Sara

As you can see, the birthday hats were definitely more fun to eat than wear!

Yummy cake!
