Church Nursery

This past Sunday, the church that we have been recently attending recognized all of the nursery children, as well as the wonderful staff that volunteers each week. Part of the service included a short video of all of the children. Here are just a few of the cute pictures.

Happy Mother's Day!

Unfortunately, our family plans of going to Delgrosso Park with our parents were changed due to the weather. However, I still had a wonderful Mother's Day! After church, Ryan and the girls treated me to a Mother's Day brunch (along with half of Altoona!). Below are some pictures my dad captured of our family, which we framed for gifts for our moms. Happy Mother's Day!!

Let's Go Pens!

If you know Ryan, you know he is a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Needless to say, he has been following the playoffs with great excitement. He was like a little kid on Christmas morning prior to tonight's game. He was especially excited to share the game with his daughters, whom he is sure will both be huge hockey fans was well. As expected, Leah ran around the family room, stopping occasionally to watch the game, while Abby snuggled on her Daddy's lap, staring at the tv. Even though they were only able to watch about 20 minutes of the game (since it was past their bedtime), Daddy sent the girls to bed assuring them that their Penguins would be victors!

Yummy Pudding!

Tonight the girls had a rather messy dinner, consisting of chicken with ketchup, peas, and mashed potatoes.....all topped off with yummy chocolate pudding for dessert! As you can see, it definitely took awhile to clean-up our messy kiddos after this messy meal!

Barefoot Farms Fieldtrip

Yesterday, the girls and I went on a field trip to Barefoot Farms with the MOMS club. It was quite an experience! While Abby was definitely more confident around the animals, they both were very unsure. Here are a few pics from our fun trip. I definitely didn't get as many pics as I wanted.....it was a little difficult with two little ones trying to climb up my legs!

"Hey sis, that looks like fun! Let's follow Sofia up this big hill away from everyone else!"

Here are the girls "listening" to instructions from Jennifer (the owner) on how to treat the animals.

Checking out the goats.

We seemed to like them as long as they were behind bars.

Abby was brave enough to pet the goats. Leah was a little timid, especially after one of the goats tried to chew off her pigtail.

Leah was more interested in checking out the other buildings instead of the animals.

Abby is listening to Jennifer explain how they sometimes use large bottles to fed the animals.

Abby was so intrigued that she decided to test it out for herself. When Jennifer was done, Abby promptly grabbed the bottle and started sucking on it. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures, because I was too busy trying to get the bottle out of her mouth. Luckily, Jennifer assured me that these bottles were used for display purposes only!

Sofia checking out the John Deere tractor. I just love her cup holder!

Feeding the goats bread......or watching the other kids feed them!

Enjoying the Outdoors

One of Abby's favorite things to do outside (and inside) is play in the dirt. I have to admit....I definitely prefer the outside dirt playing to the inside dirt playing!

Depending on what kind of mood she is in, Leah either decides to join Abby or clean up after her.

Sweeping out the garage....

Enjoying our afternoon snack on our own little picnic table....

The girls love their new sand and water table. They especially love the fun purple sand!

Playin' in the Rain

Even though last Friday was rainy, it was still fairly warm, so the girls and I decided to enjoy afternoon snack on the front porch. After five minutes of pacing back and forth on the porch, the girls wanted to venture into the rainy weather. They love being outside so much and a few raindrops definitely didn't change that!

Gettin' Down and Dirty

Both Leah & Abby love to play in the dirt. Picking through the dirt to inspect rocks, twigs, and berries often has them intrigued for minutes on end.
